Feb 21                Orientation, Soils, Bed Preparation and Planning, Sat. 1-4 

Feb 26             In-depth Garden Planning, Thur. 6-8:30  Supplement to course.

March 7          Waking up the Garden, Sat 1-3:30

April 4           Composting and Better Garden Management, Sat 1-3:30

April TBA       Composting Outside the Box (Advanced), Sat 1-3:30

May 2            Honing your Skills and How to Harvest, Sat 1-3:30

June 4            Summer Garden Maintenance and Planning for the Winter Harvest, Thurs 6:00-8:30

July 2            Hot Weather Planting for Winter Eating, Thurs 6:00-8:30

Aug 6              Food Preservation Methods, Thurs 6:00-8:30

Sept 3rd            Growing Seeds for your Garden and Community, Thurs 6:00-8:30

Oct 3             Winterizing your Garden and Tool Maintenance, Saturday 3-5

 

Advanced classes and workshops, listed in italic, are supplements to the class series.  Advanced classes are open to the public, and available to core program registrants at a discounted rate.  We expect to add more supplemental classes, dates and topics TBA.

Please note:

  1. Feb 21st class is three hours to allow for orientation, Saturday afternoon, 1-4pm. All other classes are two and a half hours.   Classes start promptly, so please arrive 10 minutes early.
  2. Feb 26 class is Thursday evening and indoors.
  3. March, April and May classes are Saturday afternoons, 1 to 3:30 pm, and summer classes will be Thursday evenings, 6:00 to 8:30 pm.  The October 2013 class is Saturday afternoon, 3 to 5 pm, followed by a harvest party and evaluation session.
