Winter pruning:  Apples, pears, raspberries and more

A healthy tree is happier, more productive and more beautiful.  Learn to prune your trees and enjoy abundance and beauty this year and for the future.   We’ll start with pruning basics, both the why and the how, then move to hands-on practice.

  • how trees grow and fruit
  • when to prune
  • tools
  • good pruning cuts
  • what to remove

Our abundant home orchard and food forest has been evolving since 2007.  We’ll show you some common problems and troubleshooting.

Never pruned before?  We got you.  We’ll have tools for you to use.

Have your own tools? Please bring them.

Saturday, Jan. 27, noon to 3 pm.

Please arrive a few minutes early, as we will begin promptly.  We will be in the garden, so dress comfortably for outdoors.  A warm hat and shoes that can take a little mud are a good idea.

Location:  Cully neighborhood, NE Portland.  Frequent service on Trimet #75. Off-street bike parking available.
